Munich, March 11, 2024 - The RA8000CE and RA4000CE, two new RTC (real-time clock) modules with an integrated digital temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (DTCXO2) for in-vehicle applications, are now available in mass production by Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, “Epson”).
These RTC modules from Epson are the first to have an integrated DTCXO, allowing them to withstand operating temperatures of up to 125°C and comply with AEC-Q100 standards to deliver precise and trustworthy time data.

Automotive manufacturers require devices that comply with vehicle reliability test standards. Additionally, there is a growing need for automotive devices that can perform in high-temperature, low-current settings due to the increasing amount of electronics and functionality added to automobiles. Because Epson designs, develops, and fabricates the integrated circuits used in their RTC modules, they can assure that they fulfill customer expectations and are compliant with AEC-Q100, which is why many automotive applications use the products.

Automobilhersteller benötigen Geräte, die den Standards für Fahrzeugzuverlässigkeitstests entsprechen. Darüber hinaus besteht ein wachsender Bedarf an Automobilgeräten, die bei hohen Temperaturen und niedrigem Strom betrieben werden können, da Autos immer mehr Elektronik und Funktionalität aufweisen.
